The announcement of winning the Knights Cross by:

Generalmajor Ramcke. Commander of a "Sturmregiment" was put up for the medal by his men, after the battle for Crete where he as Oberst (Colonel) played a vital role in the capture of the "Malemes" Airfield. He set an example for his men by enlisting into the paratroopers while 51 years of age.

Major Kroh. Battalion Commander in a Fallschirmjäger Regiment. Was together with his battalion, deployed in the very difficult terrain around Rhetymnon. And after overcoming inhuman physical exhaustion, he successfully rescued a surrounded Regiment.

Oberfeldwebel Welskop. Who as a "Zugführer" in a Fallschirmjäger regiment stormed a enemy held hill near Chania and managed to hold this extremely vital hill while fighting in a bloody hand to hand combat with the constantly attacking enemy.

Feldwebel Kampke. Who distinguished himself through his extraordinary bravery during the battle for Crete.

Feldwebel Schuster. Who distinguished himself through his extraordinary bravery during the battle for Crete.
